FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
