News has broken that beloved stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
A Major Reunion for Fans
The duo will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. It is believed their roles will probably be featured in a brief glimpse ahead, considering the original saga concluded with their characters married and with children.
This represents the sixth cinematic outing in the global Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It serves as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.

The film's narrative are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.
