Six Individuals Detained Following 12 Million Euro Heist on Precious Metals Facility in France

Six armed perpetrators carrying high-powered firearms detonated charges to force entry into a gold treatment facility located in the city of Lyon, slightly injuring five employees during what appears to be the newest significant broad daylight robbery to occur in the nation.

The daring raid took place on Thursday afternoon, with police forces quickly arresting the individuals believed responsible and securing the stolen items assessed at around €12M (£10.5 million), as stated by authorities.

Five employees of the precious metals facility received light wounds from the blast, and three individuals required hospital checks for evaluation, the regional prefecture announced. Twenty-eight employees were inside the facility when the robbers attacked.

The individuals, considered seasoned offenders, were arrested a brief time later in the nearby town of the town of Vénissieux, authorities revealed.

A woman involved who took part in the raid was likewise arrested, a police source indicated.

“Six suspects who used detonations in a raid against a metals processing plant in Lyon, France were caught in the act,” the nation's interior minister announced via X, praising officers for their “firmness, rapid response and command”.

High-caliber firearms, handguns and detonation devices were also confiscated.

The robbery occurred as authorities on the same day detained five further people, featuring a main perpetrator, in connection with the recent audacious Louvre museum robbery.

Many investigative personnel have been hunting four robbers who utilized a lorry with a hydraulic lift and cutting tools to breach a first-floor gallery at the museum on the nineteenth of October, making off with jewelry valued at approximately €88M.

In a different significant robbery, thieves last month forced their way into the Natural History Museum in Paris, stealing gold samples estimated at exceeding $1M. A young Chinese female was taken into custody recently in the city of Barcelona in relation to the burglary, according to legal authorities.
