'Trapped in a Dreadful Dream': Relatives of Missing Teenagers Desperately Seek News After Ski Resort Fire

The families of young people unaccounted for after a deadly blaze at a venue in a Swiss alpine town are enduring an excruciating period of uncertainty for confirmed information and requesting clues about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Verified footage reveal the roof structure igniting as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have stated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the fatalities of the disaster, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and hurt another 119. Officials noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with efforts ongoing to name the final individuals.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been using the internet to appeal for information about their friends who were in attendance that night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are not yet determined, according to an appeal from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near the city, told a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in Bern, but could not find him.

"This is a living nightmare, a nightmare. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in critical condition. It's terrible," she told the paper.

She continued that some of his companions had been discovered with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they endured an absolute nightmare."

The Italian government has said that a number of of its nationals have not been located.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, according to.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage promising athlete, who hailed from Genoa but now living in the UAE.

The national sporting body has said that he is dead, without directly referencing the fire, paying tribute to a "talented young man who embodied passion and authentic values."

Additional Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise among the missing. His mother told reporters that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the venue.

"A close friend informed me they fled after the fire started and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

One of his teachers commented, "I remember his good nature and smile, combined with great maturity. Every time ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek nationality but lives permanently in the country, was also at the bar on that night, according to sources.

Her brother has shared an urgent request online, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
