Trump's Family Member Gets Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete boasts impressive online presence
Kai Trump will have plenty of well-known supporters as she begins her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to participate at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, owns numerous courses worldwide and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she revealed.
She mentioned that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa basically suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, Kai has played in just three tournaments in 2024 and has the 461st position in AJGA rankings.
But she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He stands as the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior human being. He told me to go out there, relax, following the flow."
She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, including world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, especially reaching the next generation.
The young star boasts millions of followers and just introduced a personal apparel and wellness company.
She begins at late afternoon GMT.
