Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
