Both have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on the start of the week.

The Manager's Stance on Celtic

The Ipswich boss referred to the Glasgow giants as "a really big soccer institution" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Ipswich in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only four games last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy 12th in the Championship.

"I have not had any of those conversations," the English capital native former Northern Ireland young player said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my focus is currently.

"I have a unique job here at a special team. And we're at a crucial phase of the campaign. Everything outside of that hasn't reached my radar."

Background and Contractual Details

It has been suggested that the manager would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about those. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and announce what they were, but of course it's a really big football club."

The coach signed a new four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his alleged buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I tackle this job like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the case, but I will consistently do my best as while I am here."

Bellamy's Situation

The former striker played for the Hoops on temporary transfer from the Magpies in 2005, but the ex- Wales forward is inclined to complete the current global tournament qualification, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their World Cup group behind leaders Belgium and second-placed Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually guaranteed of reaching that stage, due to a successful Nations League campaign, should they fail to finish as their group runners-up.

Given his current position, the Wales manager, whose agreement expires after Euro 2028, would be unavailable until following the qualifying matches at the earliest.
